I've attended both open houses in Kemmerrer and Pinedale and here's the conclusion.
Deer numbers down but stable-winter habitat big problem-shortened deer seasons and no antlerless harvest in 143 and 135, 134. Rifle seasons 15-30 Sept. In 134 and 135 1 - 10 Oct. Only 800 Non-res tags issued.
Antelope doing well - increased tags in 93 for bucks to 700.
Elk doing excellent - increased in all units and hunt seasons extended to Nov 5 in many units and they are crying for people to kill cows. proposing extra cow only tags. In SW areas they actually counted the herd quota by aircraft this year.
SO INSTEAD OF THE USUAL DOOM AND GLOOM THINGS LOOK PRETTY GOOD!!
