Is this a shooter on a low to a mid tier unit, wasatch, oqiurrh, deep creek etc.
Exactly.Depends on your definition of low and mid tier units. I would bet that 3/4 of the Wasatch bulls killed won’t out score that one and if you added every inch of every Wasatch bull taken, then divided by number of bulls killed, you’d be hard pressed to break 300 average and this bull looks to me like maybe 310-315 range.
Spot on. I saw numerous bulls harvested on the wasatch this year much smaller. And talked to multiple people on the wasatch that worked hard to come come close to a bull of this size but found nothing.Depends on your definition of low and mid tier units. THIS.You know what. It’s whatever floats your boat.
Monster muleys has a higher standard then a facebook post. It's a simple question I don't care what the bull scores and never asked. Just if you waited 10 plus years would this bull fit the bill? For me yeah I like his character.+1
Forums/social media have become the dictator of what is "acceptable" in about every facet of life these days. That makes me kinda sick! If you like him put the hammer down.
Inches should have no influence on success or happiness.
No much better bulls on the unit, but there is always a bigger one regardless of where you are at. Shoot him if you like him! Who cares what we think. At monster muleys

For those of you that are very familiar with the wasatch. Is this the type of Bull you are seeing?
No tag... Just curious what others are seeing and think. No much better bulls on the unit, but there is always a bigger one regardless of where you are at. Shoot him if you like him! Who cares what we think.
Sorry for my response then, I was thinking you were thinking about shooting him.No tag... Just curious what others are seeing and think.
My simple answer is "No"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Why is everyone so uptight. Who cares if some people like trophy animals.Or if they prefer to hunt for meat, and care less about antler size. We are all hunters and need to act like it, and support one another.
As for the post it's a simple question. What would you consider this bull on one of those units. No I don't have a tag. If I did I would have other pics of Elk, not just cabin bulls, that frequent my property.
For Gawd sakes asassin and others is this what this site has become?
Put down your swords people. Simply put is this bull a good bull for what you have been seeing.

Well said legacy.A lot of variables involved. Have you killed a mature bull before? What weapon? What did you see while scouting all summer? How many points did you burn? What day of your hunt is it? Had I seen better bulls while scouting, burned a bunch of points and it's the first half of my hunt, I'm letting him walk. If it's the last day or 2 and things are looking bleak, I'm probably notching my tag. If it's an archery tag, no doubt I'm notching my tag.
Spot on for me. I had the Wasatch archery tag this year and set my standard at killing the first bull around 300 that I had a chance at which I think is a good bull for a archery hunt on this unit. That is what I did, my bull scored 302 and I have zero regrets and had an amazing hunt. I passed up a few opportunities on smaller bulls but never seen any bigger than what I killed. I had nine more days to hunt when I notch my tag so that could have changed but still zero regrets. It will be a memory for a lifetime and 20 more inches of horn would not have change anything for me with that memory. Same with my deer hunt this year, I had six bucks to choose from and I did not shoot the highest scoring buck in the group, I shot the buck I liked the best. Again zero regrets. If it makes you excited, put the hammer down. Good luck to everyone.A lot of variables involved. Have you killed a mature bull before? What weapon? What did you see while scouting all summer?
