Hobo Dinners- Get a hamburger patty and vegetables like potatoes, carrots,corn,peas and wrap them in tin foil. You cook them in the coals of your fire. You cant put them directly on the coals of course because they'll burn. They're easy to make ahead of time and clean up is easy.

Actually Idaho does give out landowner tags through their LAP program. They can give them to anyone they choose but they cannot sell them. So you pay them a "trespass fee" and you can purchase them for $$$$! You also don't have to sit out a year like you would if you drew a tag in the controlled...

This buck is 22.5" wide with a 17" inside spread and scores 198". Taken by my brother in law a few years ago. Hell of a deer and his best so far.

We shoot the 460 No Excuses and 100 grains of 777. Its a tack driver! My other son has another muzzy tag that opens tomorrow. He'll be shooting the White too.

My youngest son got lucky and drew a muzzy tag for deer here in Idaho Oct.1-Oct.14. We worked hard all summer scouting and preparing. I wanted to get him a new muzzy for this hunt and we looked at a lot of them. We ended up getting a White from Doubless off of this forum and its hands down one...

Use the next 6 days to get out and learn what you can and scout it out. Find where the roads take you and some of the posted lands you should avoid. Pm sent.

This has turned into a very tough hunt like Ron said. Keep doing what you're doing and you'll eventually turn up some nice bucks. Before all the elk tags they put in this unit it was one of the best tags in the state to have. Now its decent at best. Hopefully all the tags will eventually reduce...
