Does anyone know what the Oquirrh/Stansbury any weapon elk tag sold for at the RMEF banquet in Tooele back in early April? I'm doing a little research and was wondering how high that tag went.
Thanks,
Jon
Stackem,
As Whiskeydog said above, 16 points is getting you very close to some great tags. You've waited a long time so you want to be sure to get the right hunt. I am the operator of the website www.HuntersTrailhead.com that details the real statistical odds of drawing every tag in the state...
A party application will hurt you if there is only 1 tag remaining when your group application is drawn. If that occurs, they will skip over you and go to the next single applicant - even if it that applicant is in a lower point pool. I have seen instances where a group applied for a hunt that...
For the past 3 years, the application reports have been printed the first week to 10 days of August. Then they have to be approved before they are posted on line. I usually expect to see them by the middle to the end of August. I wish that they would post them sooner.
Good luck,
Jon...
Is he a resident or non-resident? If he is a non-resident, he can hunt all 4 of the Wasatch units. I have some good advice for 2 of the other units, but I am a bit limited on Lone Peak its self.
Jon
c86,
I live in Tooele and spend a good amount of time on this unit. I would use some caution before applying for an Oquirrh-Stansbury elk tag. You are correct in that most of the Stansbury range is public, but there are very few elk over there. I wouldn't even waist your time hunting that side...
Zim,
I am glad that the Favorites system is now working for you. I did check the system regarding the low success rate in 2009 for unit 38. You are correct. The calculation was messed up but has now been corrected. Thanks for the heads up.

Zim,
Could you please tell me what is not working with your favorites? I checked your profile and you do have several Wyoming hunts saved in there. Hopefully you figured it out, but please let me know if you are still having problems.
Thanks,
Jon

Horniac is exactly right. You need to "drill" all the way down to the specific unit detail page. However, not all states have the maps up yet. Arizona, Utah and Wyoming are there now, Colorado and New Mexico are coming in the next few weeks and the remaining states will be brought up ASAP...
Bill,
Choose a species, select your residency and click the "Find a Hunt" button. Your point level will be highlighted on the next screen that comes up. The point box remains available for those that choose not to use the point portfolio system but your points will not automatically appear in...
