Awesome! Wesley and Taj stop by our bay a few times during the...
Congrats Roy! Our church sends our youngsters on missions too. We generally serve humanitarian missions where you Mormon guys mainly proselytize(I think). I know how proud and nervous you must be. It's amazing how much they mature during their mission.
Give your Dad a big congrats from me. That's a hell of an accomplishment. They can be some pretty tough hunts too. I see these bears on a daily basis and I still can't get use to how huge they are.
>Alaska! Tons of huntin' and
>tons of "summer teeth".
True. You know what we say about finding a spouse on our Alaska dating sites. "The odds are good but the goods are odd."
My son and I use to guide for bears on POW and Kuiu. On our off days we'd always rented the forest service cabin on Control Lake. Most of the other cabins on POW are fly-in or hike-in cabins.
Why not a DIY hunt? Kodiak rentals will rent you all you need and have it down and waiting at Trident Basin for you. Fly into town, go to Macks and get your licenses, go to Safeway for food and then down to the float plane basin and fly out.
What time of year are you coming up?
I talk to or deal with Andrew Air at least two or three times a week. (I live here) and I would highly recommend them. I don't know how the company I work for could do without them.
I would also give North River Air some serious consideration. I've had either Taj or Eric fly me on several hunts...
I'm pretty sure you Mormons use to pay your tithes that way all the time. I see no problem taking 10% of what you reap and helping others out. I just wouldn't bother your clergy with it. He/she is probably overloaded this time of year anyway.
