Finally got through, Drew Unit 15 second hunt elk bow, Unit 24 deer bow.

We were up in 21B on a cow elk hunt this past weekend and stopped at the store in Winston on the way up on Friday and there were two pictures on the store counter of a bull taken by a woman on the Nov16-20 muzzleloader bull hunt in Unit 17 that was still in full velvet! Yes they are. Was in unit 15 and 23 this past weekend and bulls were bugling and with cows.

I also recommend Lee Jackson in Arenas Valley, does a great job.

Gila National forest map shows boundary for refuge. The refuge only has livestock fences around border with high fence along northwest side. The refuge itself has livestock fences separating diffent pastures/areas.

Forgot to mention that the KOA is only 5 minutes from the refuge. It is actually located in Arenas Valley, between Silver City and Ft Bayard.

I can think of 3 spots where you could camp on the refuge off the main road and two spots off of Crumbly Road just outside the refuge. You will need to walk/hike to get into deer since there is limited access on the refuge as there are no roads other than the main road,Crumbly Road, and a two...

The past couple years the emails start right at 5:00pm.

They should send out emails the day before as they have in the past, which would be Tuesday the 8th after 5:00pm to successful applicants.

Forgot to mention this was his first time bow hunting. We were in Unit 24.
