Unit 17 Velvet Bull

We were up in 21B on a cow elk hunt this past weekend and stopped at the store in Winston on the way up on Friday and there were two pictures on the store counter of a bull taken by a woman on the Nov16-20 muzzleloader bull hunt in Unit 17 that was still in full velvet! The velvet was dark brown and the antlers were thick! Anyone know any more info?

I saw the picture also nice bull with velvet this time of year ? I also saw a heard of elk with a decent 5x5and some smaller bulls he was screaming and the cows were also making a lot of noise never saw that this time of year they are usually separated .
