I agree ,start hunting on November 1 . The big ones usually get killed first 10 days. They are out searching for does not holed up breeding in one canyon. Bucks over 180 are definitely out there. Post a picture of the one you kill and good luck!

I would start hunting opening day. The bucks will not be far from the does then. You have a great tag hold out for a big one.

We are going this year and are looking at Ram Air or Northern Air Trophy both out of Kotzebue. This will be my first hunt in Alaska. Anyone have experience with either? Would be glad to report back for your 2015 hunt after we get back this fall.

The genetics are still there , it's hard for them to reach full potential when they only get 2 years to do it.

What day do the horns have to be there to be eligible?

Anyone with an 18 archery doing any good? Heard its been pretty smoky up there. Wondering if the bulls are talking much?

Saw a good bear (300lbs) in the east pine creek drainage last weekend. Saw more bear sign than deer sign. P.M. if you would like better directions.

Has anyone packed into dry diggins or bernard cr? I have never been to that part of the unit. Wondering how far in a person would have to go to get away from the crowd?
