I hunted there in 2011 and we stayed in Riverton. There are plenty of places to stay there. It is a little bit of a drive, about 45 minutes one way. If you are hunting for two weeks you should do well. We hunted 3 days and saw 2 really good bucks and killed a couple average 14 inch bucks. There...
Why not hunt archery for 4-5 days than switch to rifle Sep 15th if you don't tag out? It will be like scouting with a bow in hand for your rifle hunt. I don't think it is guaranteed with 3 points, more like 60% this year.
I think it is funny that someone would think they could put up a blind a month early with a note on when he will hunt his blind. It is like trying to reserve a camping spot. Maybe I will bring a sandwich board next time I go hunting to post my intentions of where and when I will be hunting. Is...
I didn't put in for anything that I will draw this year. May go OTC archery in January to check out some Coues units before I burn my points. Thanks for all the info guys.
The only problem I see with the Coues hunt is the dates I would hunt would be early 12/13-12/18. It sounds like the end of December may be better. It seems nobody likes the 12A west early hunt. It appears to have decent success with a chance at a real nice buck.
I have 9 points for deer and will never draw a late Strip or Kaibab tag in the next 20 years so I'm ready to cash in. I can draw a 12A West early or a 23 late Coues hunt this year. I am close to being able to draw a 33 late Coues or a 23 late Muley hunt. What would you do? I am just looking for...
You can do two regular tags and 2 special tags for 74. Hunted there in 2011 the last 3 days of September and had the place to ourselves. The unit 90 deer hunt opens on Oct. 1st which will bring some hunters in.
Things have really changed out there. In 2011 you could still buy 2 antelope buck tags. The deer hunting was never really that good on the public ground and I hear it is worse now.
