I have not been deer or elk hunting in SE Idaho but I've been doing a lot of Sharptail and pheasant hunting there and I've come across more winter kill carcasses this year than in the last dozen years combined. This one property I got permission to hunt I came across at least 25 to 30 carcasses...

I use to Chukar hunt a lot around Vernon and had a deer tag one year out there but haven't been out there in several years until this last weekend. When did the track of McMansions and water ski park get built? WTF?!? I think I use to see bucks regularly right where those mansions are now.
