I have an ancient 25-06 that has served me well for many years. It's seen it's day. I'm going to rebarrel, and am considering going .30-06. Never owned one. I'll handload, so I'd like to hear some loads. I'll probably concentrate on 165 grain bullets; but I'm open to suggestions.

I'm going to turn old .25-06 into a.280 AI Will probably be the last rifle I ever need I hope so.

Fred, Bill Ruger was a genius. I've read a lot about the man, and he was way ahead of his time. Bill was right there with Samuel Colt, Mr.Browning, and Mike Walker at Remington. He will never be equilled.

I'll buy all the IMR 4831 you want to sell. That temperature crap is just that. Crap. I've shot IMR 4831 in Texas when it was 90 degrees: I've shot it in Colorado when it was so cold I couldn't find my nuts. Every time it worked, and it worked very well.

If I knew the answer to most of these questions, I would have solved my own problem. I'm looking for a 330 type bull. Hunt type is negotiable. I'm old, but I can hike.
