    ND Non-Resident Mule Deer Help

Don't expect Colorado/Wyoming type of quality. There are a lot of mature bucks with crap genetics though. And there are a ton of deer in general. Like there are too many deer a lot of times so it's hard to stalk with all the eyes. If a guy isn't holding out for a trophy you should be able to...

License Distribution/Preference Points Focus Group For Future Seasons

Whether one adds more creep than the other, if it adds creep it is doing the exact opposite of what the focus group was tasked with. If my points allow me to draw 3 tags that others would normally draw, whether that is all in 1 year or in 3 years it's the exact same thing. It bumped 3 other...

License Distribution/Preference Points Focus Group For Future Seasons

It does the same thing as banking. Instead of my 15 deer points paying for 1 tag. Those 15 deer points pay for 2/3/4/5 tags. Which increases creep. Same with my elk points and my dads. Point banking will benefit me personally and I will take advantage of it. I guess I don't understand though...

License Distribution/Preference Points Focus Group For Future Seasons

You aren’t missing anything. Point banking, or sharing, or boosting will increase creep. If my 10 points get two tags instead of one tag, someone else just missed out on a tag and gained a point. That will increase creep. Obviously everyone is only trying to benefit themselves. Instead of...

Please do not push point banking or point sharing. That will increase point creep.

    Gunnison Basin '22

I notice a lot of hunters will shoot a young good looking buck over a mature ugly buck. I don’t see how it’s not having an impact. I spent a few weeks scouting 66 last year. I only saw a few nice symmetrical 4’s. All young though. I did see lots of mature 3x4’s and mature crabby 4x4’s. Maybe...

License Distribution/Preference Points Focus Group For Future Seasons

Agreed. The only thing banking, sharing, boosting, whatever flavor you want to call it will do is increase point creep. Let’s say I want to hunt 54 this year. I can easily draw second but not third season. If there was banking I could hunt second twice. If there was sharing I would get myself...

    Hey BOHNTR- What is this?

There was a bull at the local sports show like that top buck. Like a main frame 240" but with a lot of 6"-8" crap on the bases, it scored 408". Pretty unimpressive looking.

One shot back on the books...

Hardly ever. You are right. I’m just like the WL’s. I want something changed so I’m going to belittle someone that wants the exact same thing I do. Pretty sure that’s not what I did but I could be wrong. I’m sure you will point it out if I am ? Sorry I misunderstood your first post. So 3...

One shot back on the books...

And if all the WL’s keep putting their own residents down, insulting them, etc, it will probably only be two residents speaking up again next year. Any of the WL’s could have helped like WB did, or posted ahead of time about the meeting etc. But it probably makes the WL’s feel better so they...

It is interesting that the only help the OP got was from a non res. And usually SS is better at trolling. This time it was fairly pathetic. Hopefully he can step his game back up.

    Region G method of transportation

I’ve never hunted it but I have scouted it for a possible future hunt. I don’t see horses being that useful but maybe it was the area I was in. It seemed like water was pretty limited. Goats would be a lot better option in that type of country imo. I also don’t think it’s that rugged compared...

    Lifetime License auction

Is every area that was a general area when the LL was purchased still available to hunt on a general tag or LL? If not did the LL holders complain when areas/units got changed from general to LE? Couldn't the entire state go LE besides 1-2 units. Leave those units open for LL holders only...

    Wyoming Resident hunters lobby group

Agree. Its just like trying to get grizzlies delisted, Alaskan residents asking for support on the closures for 23 and 26a, etc. Why would non res that are getting shut out of these states care to help with either time or resources? In a few years I will be moving to the welfare state of...

That’s not the point. SS says he doesn’t think bears should be baited. Then asked a leading question imo. So I was curious his opinion on using dogs for bear and cat hunting.
  22. DirtyTough

    Wyoming Resident hunters lobby group

With that question I'm curious on your position of using dogs for bears and cats? Obviously most hunters would be against using dogs to chase deer, elk, moose, etc, but are fine with them for bears and cats. And if I am reading too much into that leading question of yours then I apologize...

    Swarovski vs. Vortex or other?

I used the ATS 80HD for a long time. Now I have the ATX/BTX 95. I would get the BTX before the ATX or ATS. 35x with two eyes is extremely nice. I pack the ATX eye piece also and hardly ever do I need to use it to judge something.

    Swarovski vs. Vortex or other?

Swaro is the better optic. As for warranty/customer service on Swaro's end. Last summer while on a scouting trip I dropped my BTX 95 directly on the right eye piece from about shoulder height. They fixed it for free and made sure to have it back in time for my first hunt of the year. Obviously...

    Colorado point creep

I agree 66 second will have a lot of creep. Same with 44 second. But something like 35 second might have zero creep because of tag numbers. Overall I would expect average creep to not be that much because the bulk of the tags are in super low point units. Popular units and low tag hunts will...

Where does it say that section lines are public lands? Also some section lines are closed now to public. It says in the game laws that section lines are legal to walk but not legal to hunt if it’s posted private on both sides. Doesn’t sound like public land to me. Your first sentence about...

Wyoming Guides can No Longer Scout for Outfitters???

LOL compared to how many guides and outfitters in that area? Let alone unlimited residents. I've seen numbers posted that 4000-7000 residents hunt there every year. You are going to say one person selling scouting packages is killing off the gene pool? I must of missed the sarcasm emoji.
