Fixed ! If you watch any hunting shows on tv you can almost always tell when theyre shooting mechanicals. Not sure why anyone would ever shoot a mechanical on anything bigger than a deer. The lack of penetration even with excellent shot placement leaves a lot to be desired.

Trocars are the very first broadhead Ive shot that were 100% as accurate as a field point. I shot 6" groups at 70 yards with them when I was dialed in before season. Shot a big bull at 60 yds at an angle and made a clean pass through. He never ran, stood there and died watching him.

Ive seen a few bears in Colorado but very very few in units 19 and 20 near Ft Collins. Yes, I know theyre around just not very optimal country for spotting them and I dont think theres as many as other places in Colorado.

I hunted it in 2015 and got good reception about 8-10 miles out of Alpine, just before you get to the lake. Lake Blanca ? Lake Sierra ? Cant remember the name. Where rd 88 meets the highway.

Colorado shouldnt even be on the list for monster bulls and Wyoming should definitely be above Colorado and Nevada puts out more monsters than Colorado too.

Id stay away from the Bosque Del Oso with that many points. I had close friends that hunted it hard. One killed a 315 bull, the other a nice 5x5 and they had a chance at one other bull. It was hot and the elk hadnt come off the private ranches that border it yet. Too big of a gamble for that...

Ive had pretty good dealings with them in the past when Ive called. My favorite part of their service is when Ive drawn premium tags and asked for a list of people who have hunted it previously. Ive had really good results and made some great friends too !

Where are you guys doing your research to find how many licenses were available during the regular and special draws because evidently my source isnt correct ?

Im doing the same research now myself. One thing I learned about 32 is there were only 3 non resident tags available last year in the special draw and NO licenses in the regular draw, keep that in mind.

I certainly wasnt expecting unit 1 to be that tough either. We had minimal success with calls and finally had a spot and stalk situation work for us but that was after quite a few blown opportunities and didnt happen until day 11 !

You were too nervous to get closer ? I would say once your that close you want to put the call away and rather than try to coax them to you, go ahead and put the final stalk on them. As long as the wind is right, you keep your eyes open and move slowly and quiet you can sneak into elk and kill...

You can also find landowner tags for sale at a premium price in most good units.

Look for places that are out of the way and not obvious because those places like Cow Creek that have elk right now wont hold elk after opening day, or very few. It gets hammered bad ! Gil is right, have plenty of options.
