That's a tough bow hunt. Most of the deer have taken up residence down in the valley due to the cats in the hills. Best bet is to start checking with local ranchers and see if you can get permission to hunt their alfalfa fields. The blue lake area usually holds a few.

That is a tough zone anymore, cats have driven the herds down into the valley. Most of the deer hang out in the alfalfa fields. Was up there last week for the fair saw quite a few nice bucks. Best bet is to go and start talking to the ranchers and see if one of them will let you hunt. JMO

My partner and I broke down this year and bought the Sitka before our elk hunt, great investment. It worked great from the cold mornings to the warm afternoons should have bought it long ago. I would suggest trying it on before you buy seems like each piece fits a little different.

I put a Cabela's 17 tactical on the one I built for my son. Was only around a $100.00 bucks or so. Works great.

Just returned from a successful elk hunting trip to Utah. My partner and I both used the 15 x 56 Kaibab's and enjoyed the hell out of them. Really helped in the early and late light conditions. Other guy had Swarvo's 15 x 56 a little bit sharper but not a grand worth. Sorry they did not work out...
