I had a awesome moose hunt on opening day of my season. I called this guy in to 60 yards and put the smack down on him. 25 min after daylight my moose season was over. Then the work begun.
I was one of the lucky ones this year to get drawn for a moose tag in unit 2. i been up there a few times and really haven't found the hot spots, i was wondering if you fellow hunters have got a decent general area to go or have seen anything? Heading back up this weekend with family to see...
it should be real good, they should be rutting like crazy, im going up this weekend my wife has to fill her tag, hopefully we have some good weather, it snowed alot this weekend up there

Well it started when i got draw for this tag in northern idaho and i knew the area real good i do alot of bow hunting this unit for both whitetails and muleys and the scouting started and new about this buck and hunted him the first...

There is good hunting up there and yes you do alot of calling and there is places where you can get away from roads, locate elk in clear cuts and go from there the worst thing is usual the heat, hopefully this helps you out.

i hunted south mountain and juniper mountain, i seen some huge bulls down there when i was scouting

Here is my mulie from northern idaho this year, It started by alot of scouting and the second day of the hunt spotted him bedded down and put the sneak on him and shot it 253 yards at then the fun started, shot him at 9 am and out at 4:30 pm thats the ones i like, happy hunting and now its time...

I have the leica 1200 and no promblems with it and range stuff between 800 and 1100 all the time and it is small enough to fit in your shirt pocket for quick access.
If you got drawn the super hunt tag for elk what unit do you think is the best in the state unit 40, 54, 45, 48, i been checking out 40 and there is some big bulls but there isn't very many elk, just wondering your opinions obn this, thank you.
you are supposed to but there is plenty of area to hunt up there, and there is state land mix up between the potlatch land to and plenty of forest service land. jeremy
