WVHUNTER, I feel your pain...seem to be staying just behind what it takes to draw your target unit...and getting older every day. My plan was to dump points on a good private land hunt, then come back in three years for a General tag. Good luck in 38!

The Big Horns would be a good tag, but I haven't archery hunted in over 20 years. Unit 38 is one of the other units I looking into for a rifle tag.

Thank you for the replies. The possibility of snow is a concern for us mainly because I hear they shut down some of the roads in the area. The biggest concern we have is other hunters. I think we'll look for private access in a unit 6, 34 or 122.

Thanks for the reply. Ross seems to have a great reputation. From what I can find, it seems like unit 38 is much better for an archery hunt than a rifle hunt. I found a lot of information on the unit, but not much about the rifle season there.

I've been using the BOG -PODS for about three years and they have held up well. I'm 6'3" and can use them comfortably when standing. The legs are prone to "clicking" together if you're not careful, but I fixed that with some gun tape. Good luck
