I am concerned also, Mule deer already struggling across most of US don't need to lose more.

I moved to Portland area for work. I don't have any intention to hunt NW , I like Muleys and don't know how to hunt the dense forests where I live anyways. This is why I'm looking east but really have no idea where to start hence the request for input.

From what i observed today they seem to be near peak rut right now in the Sandias. Watched a buck similar to this one get rocked by an even bigger buck then the dominant bred the doe 20 yards from me. That is a nice lookin deer in the photo but ur right i have seen bigger also. No eyes like a owl. Just know how to identify shapes in the dark with the binos at close range. It helped that it had silhoutted itself on the ridge. Not real sure if this is common in Sandias to have such variation of colors. this is my first time setting up cam to capture bears. To be truthfull i have never seen any bears in Sandias that were not black. Thanks for comments.
