Had a buddy tell me that after we took pics. I put it on one of the quarters as soon as he told me.

Heard him bugle and snuck into 100 yards or so. One cow call and bugle and he was at 35 yards. Great day!

I received my elk tag yesterday June 24th.

I appreciate that. I do understand that 76 is a great elk hunting unit, and provides a great experience. I also understand that a good bull is not common but a 260-280 bull is good for me. With that said, I can't wait.

Back door was up for me this morning. Had 6 points and am showing 0 for 2013 elk. 76 here I come...yea!!!

I have had my best luck a few days before muzzy season starts. I have never called in a bull opening week, I'm sure others have. Exactly when the elk are going to get the rut on is a good question.

I live in the San Luis Valley and should draw 76 for archery elk this year. Looking for someone to hunt with. I am open for bivy hunting or I also have a camper. I've done both.

I do know the numbers are said to be on the lower end. However, there are some quality bucks to be had. The later rifle seasons have produced some dandies in this unit.
