00 F 250 240,000 Buy it?

Bank has a repo on the lot:
2000 F250 XLT Super Crew
7.3 short bed 4x4 No leaks Cold a/c
240000, Auto shifts great
Good body headlight clouded over need news to like better
Pwr steering sounds like is goin(whinin noise)
Front in looks out(wear on inside front tires)
They want owed 9200 but I think I can talk them down 2000. Maybe 7k-6k. What do you guys think on first Deal on a pw stroke?

240k and 10 years old. All of your plastic parts will be getting brittle and cracking, seals will be rotting out. Transfer case front axle and rear axle are getting close to have to be worked over. All of the depends on how its been taken care of. 1 headlight lighter than the other usually means its hit something. Coming from banks I assume its all hopped up so that in itself is hard on stuff. You will spend a lot of time fixing this truck and it might only be worth it without a payment.

Because the dipshyt that had it repo'd bought it used and paid too much for it apparently. If anyone buys this pile, they are a complete idiot.

I've got an F-Series 250 with only 576K miles on it(Yes,I said:576,000 miles)

It knows the back roads,got a few rattles in it,it will still go places that anything I've bought since won't!
On a good day it will pull 12 MPG!
It's never been repo-ed & I am the original owner/operator
When gas went to 2.50 a gallon she got parked.
She's been known to take a licking & keeps on ticking!
I'm looking for a new owner for this rig.
Please make offers.
One more thing:She has a Full Ceramic Clutch you can not slip,it will give you whiplash though went she grabs.

I forgot to mention a few options:
A Custom pin stripe job from several LE Units.
This truck has more give to it than most,you get it on just the right bind you'll be able to see a 3" gap through the passenger side door,don't worry though,when you get the truck back on level ground she don't even leak too bad.
She's been to HELL & back a few times and will still go a few more times,she's a little thirsty but I'm just be honest,Chevron & Exxon just loves this truck.
Don't worry about any Obama pipes,this truck never had any of that trash!

I own the same truck (except mine is an F-350). That is too much
$$$$. Mine has been a good truck and has 140k.

I wouldnt be surprised if you put 3k plus a year into that truck.

Too many miles IMO.

just did the brakes for the 2nd time, 130K average
ball joints last 110,000

It has zero leaks
It has zero rattles
it has zero cracks in the "brittle" plastic whatever the heck that is.

the 7.3 is the best diesel they have made yet.

I'm with WapitiBob on this one. I have a 2000 F250 7.3 diesel with 247,000 miles. Other than routine maintenance (oil, brakes, tires, etc) and one run in with a muley doe doing 75 on the freeway, this has been a great truck. Don't think I will ever get rid of it. I haul my boat and trailer all summer and it is very dependable. And for 10 years old, it still looks like a very nice truck.
 
You know what they have been through at that mileage. He doesnt, there are alot better deals to be had for 10 grand.

Nothing is bulletproof! The 7.3 is the only good thing ford ever did. I'd still run. From this deal.
But hey you could go for it if you want and for your sake I hope I'm wrong, it does happen from time to time.

I have an '00 F250 with the 7.3, has around 200k on it, and has been used...hard.Been rolled, and involved in 3 other wrecks. Besides the body work and paint cuz of the wrecks, all I've had to do is brakes and a turbo (warranty covered..dont ask :))

That said, I wouldn't give what they are asking..
