You hit it on the head!
If someone specifically put in for the early, westside hunt, thinking it is a "trophy hunt" then:
A) They don't know that this is really a glorified "meat hunt"
B) If it doesn't snow and push those deer off the mountain, 75% of the bucks taken on this hunt will be under three and a half years old
C) they have obviously never hunted there during this time!
Do they ever take big bucks on this hunt? Sure they do, but no one should ever think this is a trophy hunt.... "Even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while" is a good motton for that early hunt.
It is not designed by G&F to be a trophy hunt, and unless Mother Nature steps in and pushes those deer out of the oaks, it ain't gonna be!
