I bought it brand new in May 2003. It's a Toyota so I knew it wasn't the roomiest truck on the market and it's always been kind of a tight fit getting in and out.

Today the wife and I were out and she wanted to stop at the grocery store on the way home. She went in alone and I sat in the truck. (kind of risky but she seemed capable). I happened to notice a lever on the steering column. I wondered what it was.

It has a tilt steering wheel. I'll be darned.

It's been in the full down position for the past 16 years. She doesn't drive, so she had no idea either.

I like my truck more every day. :D

That's a good one
Not to be a smart a$$
Next time you buy a new vehicle set inside with the owners manual and have a look around you will definitely have to do it with the newer ones.
A couple of years ago I rented a Ford SUV to take to Denver and took the manual in to house and read it before taking it to Denver couldn't figure out how to open the gas door.

Comules, I still have the owner's manual in the glove box. I just figured the salesman would have pointed it out when I bought it. :D

Elkassassin, 5th gear? Let me check.....

Thanks, Eel. Because of you I just checked my '16 F 350. It has tilt wheel.

I've learned a lot from your mitakes.

You're a good pal.

I bought a new chainsaw and took it back to the store and told them it was to hard to use and the store owner took it and started it up , I asked store owner ?what the hell is that noise ?. ?

264mag, we might be related. :D

Elk, I checked my mud flaps, they say 4WD. I like those mud flaps better. :D

I've got a 06 Tacoma in the garage with around 198k miles. Toyota gave me a new frame in 2014 but I've put quite a bit of money into it orherwise. Base package 4 cylinder 5 speed. Super clean truck but now the clutch sticks to the floor so I'm anticipating another $1000 trip to the mechanics when it's all said and done.

Boy old Eel is gonna be pissed when he finds out it was electric start this whole time.

They are??
I always thought Toyota and Nissan just had a pull ropes?

That is crazy. I did the same thing on my Tacoma, although I didn't go 16 years.

Love my Tacoma, I abuse the crap out of it and it still loves me.

I halve to baby my F-150 to get that kind of love.

You're such a dirty ole man Elk...by the way, would she come to Wyoming to install mudflaps???

HIcountryman Eel's Post has more Humor and more reply posts than my post of a 26 year old officer. I am learning about Campfire. I had been to anxious towards funny. Only Eel can hand us true Funny.

So, to your Fog Light matter, all I can say is hand the problem over to a Lady and it will be quickly taught back to you. Even if the Lady is a Waitress at any Diner USA. Ladies do far better than Males.

My above Post is NOT meant to offend anyone.

Jager, I picked up a Honda Trail 90 last week for cheap at a garage sale. How do I turn on the headlight? I bought a new battery.

I am now Ripe to be an Arrow Target. I shall never write how cruel my Fathers day was. What's the old saying..? "Everything is Funny until someone gets Hurt; Then its Hilarious".

Eel, Homer et al; I submit I am still standing.... Even with no jokes, no long run-on sentences, I am STILL Standing.

By the way Homer... Does anyone know how Uncle Sage's ashes were handled.

Uncle Sage hated you at the end.....remember he introduced you here. Then u pissed the man off with your banter. You are not much of an asset......maybe just be quiet for a month would be a good start???

ASB, YOU ARE CORRECT. In the end, I was not his friend. He even told me so on a phone call just before he died. That memory does leave a mark.
We grew up together. After being separated for 40 years, things changed.

We wish we still had my sons 2001.

Somebody had to get this back on topic....

Bluehair
Splitting my time time between the winter and summer range......
May you live long enough to cash in those preference points. Amen

Good looking truck Bluehair, but they all look good with a big buck in the back. Did it have a tilt steering wheel? :D

The truck I had before was a 1989 Tacoma long bed. I wish they still made the long bed, I'd buy one.

I suppose it did but I cant remember (hardly anything) anymore. Gives me a chuckle to know there are a bunch of other folks out there who can remember every sticker on every buck they ever shot but don't know how many levers are on their steering column......;-)
