Unfortnately Unsuccesful as well... Day One started with a hike across several canyons where me and my buddy jump a bull what looked to be at least a 5x6... The bull was bedded down on the south Slope of the mountain , by the time we had spotted him he heard us coming and took off in a heartbeat and nowhere to been seen after that!! Day 2,3,4 no signs of any bullls just mainly some cows.. I headed out again on the 16 and 17 with a diifferent buddy of mine. this time we headed back were we previously seen that 5x6, after hiking and stoppin for a couples hours NOTHIN!!! we did manage to find a couple of sheds one 6 pointer and one 5 pointer.... Like you said we seen alot of signs fresh signs of droppings and lots i mean lots of rubs.... As we were heading back to camp my buddy spotted a bull climbing up this canyon about 60 yards above us (couldnt make out how big it was to thick) This bull was about 200 yards from where we had seen that previous bull opening day. I got ready to put a stalk on him towards the general area where he was at, and we circled that canyon, I think he might of teloported to unit 6A-west cuz there was no visual signs of him anywhere.. That was it for my hunt... My buddy he went with me on the first trip went back on Thanksgiving day, again he went back to that same canyon where we seen that 5x6 bull .... Again he ran into a bull not to far from where we had spotted him before, (which we think is the same one we kept on seeing)... he got a good look at him this time but it was still quite thick, he says that, that bull was at least a 6x6 but the bull had spotted him and took off and never to be seen again!!!!
All and all it was a great but TOUGH hunt a liitle more time and maybe just maybe one of us could have harvested a mature bull, Knowing his hideout!!! I like to hear more if you donrt mind sharin??
