Would anyone be willing to share a powder/grain combination that is working for them in their 300 Wby Mag? I'm pretty set on using 180 grain Nosler partitions for my bullets. I already have some IMR 7828 that I use in my .257 Wby but I can't find any recommended load date using IMR 7828. Nosler's website shows a load with IMR 4350 which I would need to purchase. Before I go buy powder, I just wanted to see if anyone would share with me what works good for them. Thanks!

IMR7828 is my powder of choice for my 300 Weatherby.

My Nosler 5th Edition states the following for the 180 grain Partition and IMR7828:

High: 84.5 grains (3185 fps)
Low: 80.5 grains (2998 fps)

My best loads came in around the 83.0 - 83.5 grains with the 180 grain Partition. Besides the fact that I like IMR7828, this powder was listed as the "most accurate powder tested" by Nosler when compared with IMR4350, RL19, IMR4831, RL22, AA3100, H1000, and H870.

As you know Weatherby's can greatly vary in accuracy, especially between the 165's and 180's. My gun likes the 180's loaded with 82 grains H4831sc, send is the IMR4831 76 grains and third is the IMR 7828 84 grains all with the Noz. accubond and partitions. My gun isn't the most accuarate and shoots 3/4 to 1 inch groups out to about 1 3/8 groups with the IMR, so probably not the gun but rather me. Also, by buddy's 300 will not group a 180 within 2 inches but puts 165's all day long inside an inch. His shoots better with a break, mine shoots better without a break. SO who knows? It does kill elk all day long and that is my main objective with it so I am happy.

I SWICHED OVER TO THE 180 ACCUBONDS, they shoot great for me, 1" groups at 100 yards. here is load- 180 accubond,84.0 gr7828 fed 215 primer, federal brass 3160 fps. start lower and work up.
