300wsm best Powder?

I bought a new Browning A-bolt Medallion in .300wsm. I loaded and shot the Tubbs Final Finish bore polishing bullets through it last weekend. This weekend I went out and tired some 180 grain Noslers loaded with IMR 4831. The charges ranged from 63 to 66 grains but none of them shot under 1.5" Have you guys had better luck with IMR-4350 or some other powder for the .300wsm with 180gr bullets? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

rl-22 imr7828, and magpro are also good powders for the 300 wsm

I don't load the .300 WSM, but Alliant has RL-17, made specifically for the cartridge. mtmuley

i've been using h4350 and 180 sierra's flat base and 180smk. ce61

also, i tried, h4831, imr4350 and h4350 had the best luck with h4350, it also seems less temperature sensitive than h4831. for bullets i tried sierra 165hpbt and 180spt. this was in a tikka t3. shot the best with h4350 65.0 gr. and 180spt. chrono'd high 2800s. shot about .75 groups at 100 yards.
a buddy of mine has had good luck with reloader 19 and 200gr. bullets. hope this helps ce61

Thank you very much for the suggestions. I was looking at IMR-4350 but now I think I'll try some loads with H4350 as well. I know these two powders are different but what exactly is the difference? Is one brand consistently better then the other or does it just vary depending on what your gun likes?

the burn rate between h4350 and imr4350 is similar, very close.
but it still goes back to what the particular gun likes.
some of the slower burning powders could give a little better speed, but i was happy with the high 2800 fps. good luck, let us know how it works out. ce61

I'd like to thank everyone for all their help. After going through a bunch of combinations it looks like I have a winner. I shot a 1/2" group this morning using 180 grain Nosler Accubonds with 66 grains of h4831 and a CCi mag primer. I tried various powders including h4831, imr-4350, imr-4831, r-19, and r-22. The 68 grain h4381 load was also very good right at 1". I'll be using this load for Oryx and Elk next month so thanks again.
