7.62x39

Has anyone used the Silver Bear 7.62x39 ammo that Cabelas is selling now? All the Wolf ammo is on backorder so I was looking what else was out there. It looks pretty good: soft point bullets, non-corrosive for $159 per 500. I've got a $30 off coupon to boot.

I have shot probably 300 rounds out of my sks and mini-30. Never had a problem, no accuracy, but that could be me, the rifles, or the ammo!

Thanks for the input. Yeah, I have never sighted my SKS in. That way I can shoot lots of ammo and not feel guilty for decimating the bunny population...

Thanks. That's some good info. Have you shot the Barnaul ammo before?

With the discounts I had at Cabela's it works about the same if I pick it up at the store. I kinda liked the idea of having some soft point ammo too. I've never considered hunting anything besides bunnies and dogs with my SKS, but if ammo gets really tight or impossible to find it might be an option.

No I have a AR-15 so I spend alot of time looking for deals on ammo too and come across 7.62 all the time. Cabelas is most of the time at least the cost of shipping higher than else where.
