A short cow hunt

Not too hard to track her. 265 yards, 180 grain Hornady SST, 30-06 double lung with exit.

As she lay. I had about 1 mile to pack her this morning. Half of that is done, after a short nap I'll get the rest of her.

I had drawn, 2nd choice, an either sex tag for units 3/301 for 4th rifle. After the big snow on Grand Mesa last weekend I glassed some elk up in my home unit and went to the CPW office and exchanged my 3/301 tag for a unit 41 leftover cow tag. It saved me a bunch of diesel and had good results. Just in case anyone was wondering.

I charge $400 for Elk. Less if it is smaller,(calf)size. All the tanneries I have checked with charge by the square foot and Elk can range from 16-26 sq ft.
This is of coarse hair on and not leather. Leather can be bought from Tandy leather cheaper than having it done.
