? about greasing eyecups

I was wondering what type of grease or lube you are suppose to use to grease the twist in eyecups? I noticed when I unscrewed them to clean them out there is some kind of grease on them and want to make sure they stay smooth when I twist them in and out.

I'm not sure what type of grease it is. As you likely already have figured out, too much may get on the lenses, so be careful. It also has the potential to collect dust too. If it were me, I'd call the makers service department and put the question to them.
