annealing brass

Who anneals their brass and what do you use? I am looking at getting an autimated annealer and these are the two i am looking at.

Are there better ones out there or are these the tow to choose from?

I haven't used either one yet, but I ordered a Giraud about a month or so ago. It should be here any time and I can't wait. I was also looking a the benchsource annealer as well, but went with the Giraud since you can stack your brass in it and do other reloading tasks as it does it's thing. I will post feedback once I receive it and get it up and running.

i've been using a map gas torch and wheel similar to the one in the second link. That first one looks slick, may pick one up someday.

Probably a stupid question, but what are the benefits of annealing your brass?

Annealing brass extends the life of the brass. PM me if you have questions.

Not only extends the life of the brass, but gives you consistent neck tension on bullets..Ever notice that some cases of the same batch may take more or less pressure to seat the bullet?

If you arent set up with bushing style dies, annealing is an important step in controlling neck tension..Some might not need that level of accuracy, therefor it isnt worth it, just depends on the guns use.
