I was fortunate enough to take a nice bull again this year on the archery hunt. Tried out some new strategies this year. I had to hunt early on my tag this year since I had committed to help out a buddy in his LE tag In Utah, so instead of calling him in I was able to ambush my bull.
This was a backcountry backpack hunt. I had spotted 41 bulls in the 2 days leading up to the hunt. Opening day my buddy took a 5x6 bull in a spot where i watched 7 bulls feed into the trees the day before. I took my bull 3 days later, we had 12 bulls and about that many cows feed by us the day before but none of them were good mature bulls. Luckily this guy showed up the next day. We were planning on packing out of that area after that morning if nothing decent showed up. Glad we stuck around long enough for this guy to come and steal the herd of cows.
