Antelope from a treestand..

Going for my 2nd pronghorn from a stand, 3rd with my bow.

Now the antelope are becoming more adapted to the trees,
and forested areas, treestand hunting is an option on a few units.

And it's a FREAK'in blast!!!!!
Quickly becoming one of my favorite hunts!

I have two stands set, this one has a very good buck hanging
around it.( yet to get pics of him) and alot of antelope in general.

Hey goofy, I did that a couple times from a stunted little tree on the Montana prairie. Worked like a charm and netted me a couple P&Y bucks.

Just spent another 4 days down looking around,
Been using Fishlake as a base camp all summer....
Left my boat there for 2 months so we could fish while scouting.

It's already been one of the most awesome summers ever,
I've enjoyed showing my youngest boy all that country there!

Set up a blind on another great spot, with another great buck!

Only a week, and It's time to get serious....Wink ;-)

Plateau unit.

Have seen a good number of bucks.
Over 100 different ones the first 5 days.
Not as many does ans fawns as the past though.

Got side tracked hunting deer, I shot a 4 x 4 Tuesday.
Had to get the meat to the locker and head to the Taxi.

Headed back down Aug 25th thru Sept 1st.
Will be at the Aquarius Ranger Station.
Any of you guys in the area during that time , stop by!

Got a good antelope found there,
Hopefully I can arrow him during that week from the stand.

Looks like you're having a great summer! Congrats on already tagging a nice mule deer!

I'll be down that way this weekend looking for a lope to chase on the muzzy hunt. If I end up in your neck of the woods maybe I'll run into you.

Well,
Didn't punch the antelope permit.
Hunted 16 days,
Had opportunitys to shoot smaller bucks.

Was dead set from day one not to shoot a buck I wasn't going to mount,
So I didn't.

Saw some great action from both the tree stands and blinds!
My youngest boy say's I'm just too picky.

Killing a nice deer buck early was a GREAT bonus! Made a fun/successful hunt!
Now onto the elk.......
