I'm going to try this again. We had to turn tags back in last year due to the death of my father during antelope season. He needed me more than the hunt. We drew 67 last year with max pts. Wyoming gave us a refund and points back. Wondering if anyone hunted these units in 2011 and had some kind of herd and trophy report. I know the winter was quite bad in some areas. Any info appreciated. Thanks Brian

very sorry about your dad. Mine passed away 3 years ago. I know the feeling. I haven't hunted unit 67 in a couple of years. However I gave some info to 2 guys that did hunt there last fall. Both e-mailed me after their hunt with pics. Both killed high 70's goats and it sounded like they had great hunts. I don't think last winter was as bad in 67 as in many other areas. Good Luck. Chip

Thanks Chipc. Sorry to hear about your dad also. Its going to get us all some day but it still doesn't make it easy. Thanks for the unit 67 info. That may be where I apply again especially if the winter wasn't so bad there. Thanks
Brian

Hunted a unit that borders 67 last year and we had a good hunt. Lots of antelope and lots of nice bucks. The herd appeared in very good shape in this area. There was very good feed going into this winter in 67 from what I saw driving thru it. Unless this winter is really bad I think it would be a good area.

Thanks JCFord. I'm leaning toward that unit anyways. I feel like I have unfinished business there since I canceled my hunt there last year. Just wish someone else could have used my tag.

Good hunting to be had in all those areas. 67 is a good choice. So far, winter is not a problem and, though it's far from over, you should find plenty of nice goats to choose from.

I hunted 62 in 2010. It is a good hunt but probably not worth max points. I think I drew it in 2010 with 3 points. Not sure what it takes now.

I hunted 67 in 2010 and had a blast. Antelope everywhere and good bucks if you're willing to hold out. I would definitely hunt it again and wouldn't hesitate to burn my points on it.

Thanks Slim for the info. I think I am going to apply in 67 again. How is this unit for deer. May do a combo if it has decent deer numbers.

I've never hunted it for deer personally but my neighbor and his son have drawn it twice in the last four years. The first year they hunted it was either '08 or '09 and they killed good deer...not huge but good representative bucks. They drew again in 2010 and were a little more disappointed. His son killed a decent buck but it was the only good one they saw.

For what it's worth, when I was hunting goats in the unit I did see a few mulies. The biggest being about a 24" mid 150's buck. If you'd be happy with a buck like that I think it would definitely be possible.

As far as deer goes thats about all I'm looking for is a good average buck. I know the deer herd is not getting any better and don't want to sit on max pts forever. This way I could burn all my antelope and deer pts and concentrate possibly on elk. Thanks again
