I was hoping they’d be up high. That’s where I like to be. Plus since it seems you’ve seen my posts to which unit I drew then you probably know there are a lot of roads which I’d like to get away from. It’s a small unit don’t worry you may find resident deer but no telling where they will be come December hope for a good winter to push them down.
Thanks! Basic plan for scouting trip is to find a spot to backpack hunt & a spot to truck camp. Hopefully scouting will give a good starting point and I'll just enjoy the hunt from there. I feel a strong calling to at least visit the wilderness. The buck in your avatar is just ridiculous. Same with hornkillerWell good luck deer are plentiful I’m not sure you have to hit the wilderness.
Almost hit deer on the road every time I drive to Eagle Valley. They are everywhere as always.Anybody been in 231 yet this year? How's it looking?
That’s a stud there
No snow. Just lots of dry yellow grass.Snow on the ground last weekend?
Nice buck!
Looks like a shooter!
Nice pic! Must be some good feed in those flats.Elk on the left, antelope on the right, wild horses further back. Strange bunch. View attachment 12489
