Archery Outfitter Recommendations

My hunting partner had an accident and may not be able to go. If that happens I will need to find an outfitted hunt. Does anybody have any recommendations or know of any good deals on trophy elk hunts this late? I guess it would be an OTC unit or leftover tag?

What state do you want to hunt in?

I have a New Mexico tag so I am blown there. I'd have to fly for Idaho. I don't know yet. Depends on the deal.
Who has OTC type tags?

Colorado has OTC units. If you are patient and hunt real hard you can find a 280 to 320 bull. I am not sure about any other states.

Dew-I don't many because I don't hunt the Jemez, but go to the NM Dept of Game and Fish Website and look in the licensed guide section for Jemez addresses. Once you find some, give them a call, ask about the outfitter they would like to work under and go from there. I know Larry Sellers and Ric Martin would probably have some guides they work with. I used Eddie Pacheco guide last fall on a deer hunt. I know he hunts a lot of elk as well. If you want his phone number, shoot me a PM. Jim
