If anyone is good at running numbers for arrow spine can you help me figure out my arrow weight?
The bow I borrowed this year was set at 50 lbs for the season (killed an elk with it). I can pull 60 lb as of now and goal it be at 70 by next fall. I just got a Quest AMP and it will be setup to a 31? draw.
My arrows will most likely be 32? maybe 31.5 or 31" (that is the length I used this year).
Components:
Quest AMP (340 FPS)
31? draw
4mm FMJ Injexion
HIT insert 75-50 (break off) or regular HIT inserts (Not sure which I should go with???)
100gr Deep Six Broadhead (probably grimreapers)
Broad head Collar
FOBS
If I am planning to start shooting at 60 LB and work my way up through the winter to 70 LB should I go with 280 or 330 spines? And should I go with the extra weight with the brass inserts at either 75 or 50gn over the standards to keep my FOC good.
I am not very knowledgeable on selecting arrow spine and I know if I add weight with the insert the spine will be weakened, correct? This setup will before Elk/Mule deer and I want to stick with 4mm FMJs.
Thanks for any input
