AT&T selling satellite-enabled smart phone

See link. Phone is only currently available to government and businesses, but will be available retail in the near future. Thought some of you folks that use satellite phones in the outdoors might be interested in this new device.

That's good information.I will have need for one next year but will probably still rent unless the prices drop considerably.No doubt one day satellite coverage will be just another add-on to one's regular cell phone coverage.

within 5yrs all "analog" radio towers, cell phone towers will be just something of the past! Kind of like Beta VCR's and cassette tapes! Everything will be satalite, even your internet. There's a company that has an internet service via satalite, but its about $200 per month! (last I checked)
