Barkley gets it, but, the mindless, kool aid drinking sheep continue to be told what to think.

http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2013/07/19/charles-barkley-said-agrees-with-george-zimmerman-verdict/

Outspoken former NBA superstar Charles Barkley said he agrees with the verdict in the murder trial of George Zimmerman, but blasted the media for giving platforms to racists to ?vent? their ignorance.

Barkley, 50, gave his assessment on the high-profile Florida murder trial to CNBC on Thursday, saying jurors simply did not have enough evidence to convict the former neighborhood watch volunteer in the 2012 killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

?Well I agree with the verdict,? Barkley said. ?I feel sorry that young kid got killed, but they didn't have enough evidence to charge him. Something clearly went wrong that night ? clearly something went wrong ? and I feel bad for anybody who loses a kid, but if you looked at the case and you don't make it ? there was some racial profiling, no question about it ? but something happened that changed the dynamic of that night.?

?I feel sorry that young kid got killed, but they didn't have enough evidence to charge him."

- Charles Barkley

Barkley recognized his take is ?probably not a popular opinion among most people,? but said the evidence pointed to an acquittal.

?I just feel bad because I don't like when race gets out in the media ?cuz I don't think the media has a ?pure heart,? as I call it,? Barkley continued. ?There are very few people who have a pure heart when it comes to race. Racism is wrong in any shape [or] form ? there are a lot of black people who are racist, too. I think sometimes when people talk about race, they act like only white people are racist. There are a lot of black people who are racist. And I don't like when it gets out there in the media because I don't think the media has clean hands.?

Barkley, originally of Alabama, was named one of the NBA?s all-time 50 greatest players in 1993, the same year he won the league?s Most Valuable Player award. The 11-time All-Star retired after the 1999-2000 season and then began a successful career as a basketball analyst for Turner Network Television. He has also flirted with the idea of entering politics, announcing in 2008 that he intended to run for governor of Alabama before later changing his mind.

?Like I said, I feel sorry that young kid got killed, but just judging by the evidence, I don't think that guy should?ve went to jail for the rest of his life,? Barkley continued. ?Mr. Zimmerman was wrong to pursue, he was racial profiling, but I think Trayvon Martin ? God rest his soul ? I think he did flip the switch and started beating the hell out of Mr. Zimmerman. But it was just a bad situation.?

Barkley then took aim at unnamed media personalities who allegedly allowed their own biases to show throughout coverage of the murder trial.

?The main thing I feel bad for is it gives every white person and black person who's racist a platform to vent their ignorance,? he said. ?That's the thing that bothered me the most. I watched this trail closely and I watched these people on television talking about it. A lot of these people have a hidden agenda. They want to have their racist views, whether they are white or black ? Their biases definitely come out. It was a bad situation. We all lost.?

Now you see a person who is willing to step to the plate and tell you what he believes in, even if the rest of his race don't want it come out that way. I'm sorry but the black race need more Barkley's the Sharpton's by far.

I believe this weekend may be the biggest division of our Country that we have seen in awhile Thank's to Holder and the others because they know how to prey on the weak and ignorant.

I'm not sure what makes a basketball player a foremost authority on any subject but I think he has it right. it would have been hard to convict Zimmerman and the jury did it's job correctly. AND race entered into it AND Zimmerman was wrong to pursue.

What the hell have I been saying? you clowns are a riot.

Yep, we all agree Barkley has it right.
Was there racial profiling? Most likely. That is a different debate.
Did everyone make bad decisions that night? For sure Travon did, and most likely Zimmerman did, though, his job was to watch that neighborhood.

All that being said, we have an AG (Holder) still looking to eff up Zimmermans life.
We have a president that is rubbing his hands in satisfaction because this drives a further wedge in race/class relations in this country and that has been number one in his playbook all along.

We have a media that manufactured this shyt storm and it appears they will be none the worse for it.

This presents a huge problem I believe everyone on here agrees with "the Round Mound of Rebound" statement now what?

LOL, we move on to Detroit?

Or we can argue as to what side the "round mound of rebound" most represents. :)

Zimmerman doesn't need anyone messing up his life he took care of that. he's going to be paranoid about the black panthers cutting his throat until they do.

That just how things work.

But any retired NBA player that thinks otherwise would be stupid. Right?

The fact is, GZ was stupid and negligent for putting himself in that position. Nobody but George knows what happened that night but the jury had to believe something. Good for them. 3 had to convince the other 3 that GZ should be found not guilty. Not a slam dunk case like the wingnuts want to believe. No pun intended Charles. Stand your ground sounds good on the outside and any wingnut can oversimplify it but anyone could claim they were being attacked after they gun somebody down. The good thing is the only other witness may be dead. Advantage: gunman.

Ziggy, do you or Dude or even Piper have the slightest idea what "stand your ground" laws mean?

RELH

RELH might Martin have been standing his ground by turning on his stalker? ?

It was not intended that a stand your ground law would be for people who stalk their targets against police orders. but in this case your man made it work since the only other person who knows what happened was terminated.

Take your win and shut up, it would be best not to focus on how you got it because it was pretty weak as this juror said.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-19-13 AT 09:24PM (MST)[p]Just as I thought, you ignorant drunk, you do not have the faintest idea about the law and what it really means.

Florida claims being the first state to pass that law, but they were wrong. The great liberal state of CA. passed a modified version of that law back in the early 90's. Only CA. referred to it as the "castle doctrine".

Dude that juror does not have the muscle to remove or modifly the stand your ground law as much as the governor of Florida who has said it will not be repealed or changed by him and he supports leaving it as it is written. Besides the stand your ground law was not used by the defense f0r Zimmerman. He was tried and acquitted under plain old self defense laws that every state has on the books. Maybe you should take some courses in criminal justice 101 before you mouth off and make more of fool of yourself. If you want to argue a subject, make sure you understand it first.

RELH

You're the one who doesn't get it old geritol snorting crackhead.

The juror said the law needs to be changed, I don't care what you think you know about what this juror knows because I'm sure it's more than you do . back in your day the law was whatever Lothar of the hill people said it was, today laws can be made, altered or repealed .

After your bingo game and Matlock are over check it out, you might learn laws can change.

So now Dude we are supposed to jump up and join that juror and you and demand the "stand your Gound" law be changed. Dude calling you STUPID would be giving you a complement.

The governor of Florida had a panel of legal experts examine the stand your ground law and their assessment of the law was to leave it in place and make no changes.

I think I will side with the Governor of Florida and those experts over a layman juror member and a dumb drunken half-breed dirt farmer from Oregon who can not tell his butt from a hole in the ground. Have a nice day!

RELH

RELH 440 will never be happy in his life ,he is just an old sour bastard,no wonder the SOB lives and stays rural he got tired of having his ass kicked because he say's the wrong thing.

Bevis and butthead ride again.

RELH you make it hard not to want to kick your walker out from under you with your childish attitude.

I am not suggesting it be changed I don't give a chit what they do in FL I'm about 75 years to young to pull my wranglers up under my chin and head there. I'm saying this juror wanted an option that did not exist, and a lot of FL residents are thinking the law has flaws. it may or may not change , what the gov says means nothing in the long run. Oh I forget sometimes, at your age the long is next week so no wonder you're so confident.

Stay thirsty my friends

Dude I would think twice about kicking my walker out from under me. I just might pull that Colt 45acp Defender and blast you into hell and claim self defense as I was in fear of great bodily injury.

Then I would sue your estate for mental anguish that I suffered for having to take your precious miserable life. Have a nice day.

RELH

Not so fast, with stand your ground laws in place when you shake your cane at me I can smoke you because I was in fear for my life. if you were black I wouldn't even have to fill out any paperwork. since you're not I'd have to get some people who know you to verify I did the state a service. that shouldn't be tough.

You're such a tool, trying to paint me as a liberal radical when I'm saying what one of your republican past presidential candidates is saying. it shows how out of touch you are with reality.

440, your statement "todays laws can be made, altered or repealed." You need to take that one step further. Your hero Obama thinks okay to just ignore them also, if they don't fit his agenda. Not to mention, manipulate, use them where they don't apply, use executive orders if he doesn't get his way, bully people, throw temper tantrums, etc., etc.

I find it funny dude that now you are using John McCain to support your beliefs after you have accused him of being a has been and out of touch.

I do not think the governor of Florida will give McCains thoughs anymore credit then he would yours or that layman juror.

Like I said before Dude, you need to bone up on the stand your ground law so you can come up with a viable argument then the bull$hit you are trying to pass on to us.

For your information Dude there is a modified version of stand your ground laws in all 50 states. Now try to figure that one out.

RELH

The gov of FL won't be in office forever , or did you think of that? I didn't say the law would be modified this week. get with it.

I'm in favor of a stand your ground law in every state, provided it's done right. if Martin had broken into Zimmermans home, or jumped him walking down the street then smoke the puke and have my blessing and the law behind you. that's what it was intended for. it was not so you could follow people around against police orders and kill them when they resist your advances. yes the law applied, but should it have? that is the question.

I don't expect you to get it, the kid was black so what's the big deal.

Stay thirsty my friends

Defense did not even use that law for his defense. was not necessary.

So, that begs the question, why is the administration going after it?

Never let a good tragedy go to waste.

It was in the middle of it, they just didn't talk about it in court.

Wingnuts get goo goo eyed over Zimmerman, picturing him as Charles Bronson in Death Wish, the blacks see him as the grand dragon getting away with murder. it's beyond me why either side would take such interest in two people of questionable merit. but they do, so it's not going away for a few more weeks.

http://miamiherald.typepad.com/nake...-not-guilty-zimmerman-verdict-juror-says.html

Holder looking at the law isn't the same as obama trying to remove them. the laws are good, if they're a good law. obviously the chance to use them for the wrong reasons exists.
