I was just relaying the info I was given. I was told they looked for him for 3 days before killing him on Monday. ? and that he disappeared regularly.
I also said he wasn't as "wild" as some, I never said he was as wild as a high country buck that rarely sees people.
And have you ever been to most areas that have limited hunting??? Most of the deer including the bucks will let you drive right up to them, sometimes within yards and will hardly even look at you. Especially in July. This buck is no different, yeah he is used to seeing cars and people at a distance but I bet he wouldn't have let someone walk up and shoot him with a bow. Drive passed him with a tractor and you probably got a shot though. It is what it is, if it's not for you then it's not for you. Nobody is making you hunt them if you don't want too.
That could be one of the nicest things you've ever said to me SS. And those island deer are just as wild as most LE units with well traveled roads. If they happen to be by the road you can get pretty close to them, but try walking towards them from several hundred yards away, they run just as hard as any deer I've seen, at least from my limited experience. I got to go shed hunting out there one year, they wouldn't let you get close to them.
