Best .50 cal load for deer

LAST EDITED ON May-14-13 AT 05:20AM (MST)[p]I assume you are talking Colorado which means loose powder, conicals, and no scope. Hope you had military sniper training, because with that set up you would need to be that good for a 300 yard shot on a deer.

For me personally, for a 300 yard shot on deer, I am going to grab my 270 with a leupold 3x9 scope.

Since I only use conicals and no scope and would never personally attempt a shot at a deer at that distance, I can't help you. For me, it would be an unethical shot.

Look for some posts by Marley as he is one of the few who can shoot well at that distance.

PS: No one can really tell you a "good load" for your gun. Every gun is different and you have to do a lot of experimenting to find out the sweet spot for your particular rifle.
