N need2hunt Guest Jan 10, 2006 #3 I haven't used a shotgun in many moons. Back when I did bird hunt, I used a 20 guage with federal 6 or 8 shot load. I remember the remington loads didn't put the birds out quite as good from my shotgun as the federals did.
