Guys are gonna tell u u need to spend 2-5 times this much on a cabelas pro grade grinder. If yer gonna be doin 10 elk/fall spend the money. If yer doin a deer, elk, and antelope a year, save yer money, buy this one, its all ya need.

Looked thru all the paperwork and the box,doesn't give an hp rating only a 500 watt peak output. I grind it all, that lower leg (shank) meat that's full of sinew, it chews right thru it. When I take it apart after I finish an animal I'll find some of that stuff wrapped around the end of the auger.

I do have a 1 hp cabelas grinder. It'll take frozen chunks without slowing down. That being said, as stated above, I ground meat with smaller grinders for years and they do fine for most. Pace it to the machine so it doesn't overheat. I just went bigger, figuring a lifetime investment and I could afford it at the time.
