LAST EDITED ON Nov-24-13 AT 12:15PM (MST)[p]I am usually stuck with clients for the elk hunt but when my dad finally drew this year I cleared my schedule for what ended up being the best elk hunt I have ever been on. He was a trooper and on the fourth day of the hunt he hammered this old six point. With my brother Monte who also guides for Timberline Outfitters on the assist we finally got it all back to camp two short days after dad killed him.
I have to give dad credit for the great shooting and how well he kept it under control during the moment of truth. Sending three 150 grain Bergers from the 270 WSM at just over 500 yards straight to the basket was no easy feat. I don't think the bull had time to blink he unloaded on him so fast. Congrats and Thank you for the memories.
