You won't burn your house down, I've killed many a wasp that way out on my deck, just have the house close by. If listen close you can hear 'em sizzle.

Drop a bug bomb in the well and cover it up. Then spread a good dollop of Sevin (bug killer--granules) all the way around the foundation. If you have any crawl space you will want to bug bomb it as well. If you want to kill what are already in the house, bomb the hell out of the whole house. You'll want to wash down the counters and any exposed dishes, etc... afterward.
