The boy & I drew a cow elk tag, Books - San Arroyo- and because of the drought not sure if it is worth making the long drive down there to see if the elk are even on the unit.
Anyone been down there? San Arroyo is the Cisco Desert from I-70 north to the base of the Escarpment, then over to the Colorado line. Once you start heading uphill into the Books, you are out of the San Arroyo unit.
Is it a big dustbowl? Is there still water in the stockponds? Anyone seeing any elk or sign on the desert? Hopefully I can get some help from the archery hunters.
How bad is it down there in the Cisco Desert? Should I consider turning the tags back?
PM if you'd rather, any help would be appreciated.
