Crow is right on. Not being critical but his name is Joe Back.It is an excellent book and I have a first printing of it signed by him.

You know I took a packing class from smokey elser, when I was in college back in 66. He used Joe Back's book.
I have owned about 10 of these books and given one to all my sons and other people. I alway thought that his name was Joe Beck. I was even in Dubois, Wy, his home town, and asked about him. It is funny after 40 plus years I find out his real name is Joe Back. Thanks.

The book by Smoke Elser? is also good,but the blue creek one has a tremendous amount of good info in it.
