LAST EDITED ON Nov-16-06 AT 12:04PM (MST)[p]YOu must be kidding me. I completely agree with you, but what does what you've said have to do with paying the true cost?
I've lived in deer country my entire life, I see dead dear on almost a daily basis. Over the last three years I've even see at least 1 motercycle deer accident that has caused death to both the deer and biker. I also see cows and horses along side the road about one per week.
All are accidents, no one intends to hit them, but what does that have to do with paying for your own damages? Most people dont go around hitting each other with cars either, but still if you do, youre responsible, that's why there's insurance.
Do you propose that the public just continue to subsidize the killing of wildlife, both by allowing the people to build new homes on winter range or by just looking the other way when they are hit with cars? What about a grizzly bear? Shoot it, even it it's chasing you, and you get jail time, hit it with a car an you dont get a fine. People kill animals, cars dont. Make the people responsible for the accident.
Why not?
Should we do nothing?
