Apparently some people didn't notice the log landing pile behind the ATV and that I'm parked in the road. Since I was by myself, and he dressed out somewhere around 200 lbs, I had to drag him down the road with the ATV till I found a cutbank that I could lower him onto the back rack. Anyway, the migration was slow in coming and the deer started stacking up on one hillside. I went in on Monday morning and saw this buck running with a couple of does at 75 yards. He looked pretty good and without much time to make a decision, I lowered the boom on him. When I got to him, the ground shrinkage set in. I had seen 2 bigger bucks in 7 days of hunting and was hoping for something real big. As it turns out, he is a mature buck with a 20" spread, 20" tall with 8" forks except one broken tine on the front that is only an inch long. He measures 1 3/4" diameter at the bases. Unfortunately, since I was hunting alone along untracked roads in alot of snow, I had to close the deal before I was snowed out of the area.
