Here is my 2019 CA goat, and my first goat ever. What an interesting hunt. I've seen them a million times while hunting other critters, but never targeted them. Spent all summer scouting and looking them over, which was half the fun. Had it all dialed in (I thought) and then the day before the season, while setting up the wall tents, I noticed things had changed. Goats where in new places they hadn't been, and goats were gone where I was counting on them being. Then I saw a decent buck whooping up on two smaller bucks and then head back to a group of 20+ does....The rut had begun...and totally had me thrown! So I started covering ground. Many miles were covered, sweaty, sunburned and loving it.
After looking over 17 different bucks, most of them several times, I chose this guy for my freezer, and my wall. 2 shots from my 30-06 at 470 yds, and the copper TTSX's did their job.
He's the best one I saw during the season, and I couldn't be happier. Another 25 yrs and hopefully I'll draw it again! Lol
