monday yesterday i was working a heard of elk with a little bugling and cow calling . all of the sudden across the draw the elk spooked out of the draw bugling as they went . i cow called at them as they went away. about 5 minutes later i look across the draw about 90 yards and see 2 wolves trotting at me . i franticly dig in my pack for the trusty .45 auto at about 40 yards i crank a shell in they dissapear under the hill where i cant see them so i cow called again after about a minute one of them is 9 yards away staring at me for probably 3 minutes i continued cow calling {as i watched him over the sights and cocked hammer by the way} he just starred then he trotted to try to get down wind and that way where was rocks and logs above me so i climbed on them he was about 30 yards when he seen b he trotted off to the other ridge at 90 yards and sat there for about 5 min. with 3 others. it was co0l but now they all should die. im totally anti wolf but that was quite an experence.
