Generations of Americans have related to Creedence Clearwater Revival’s
Vietnam War protest song "
Fortunate Son ," in which Hall of Fame songwriter John Fogerty draws the distinction between the ruling class and the common man with the line, “It ain’t me, I ain’t no senator’s son.”
Fogerty further explained the lyrics in his 2016 memoir of the same name: “Julie Nixon was dating David Eisenhower. You’d hear about the son of this senator or that congressman who was given a deferment from the military or a choice position in the military. They seemed privileged and whether they liked it or not, these people were symbolic in the sense that they weren’t being touched by what their parents were doing. They weren’t being affected like the rest of us.”
SWEETHEART HUNTER PLEA IS A GIFT TO BIDEN AND TRUMP
War is an obvious example of the difference between modern royals and peasants. Many politicians in the making have
dodged drafts due to less-than-believable medical problems, and elites have regularly been caught
lying about their
fraudulent heroism. This privilege enjoyed by the powerful and their families reaches further than the ability to avoid serving the country abroad; at least in Hunter Biden’s case, being the son of the sitting president is a get-out-of-jail-free card.
The president’s son went through a five-year investigation into claims of foreign influence peddling, tax evasion, and gun crimes, among other things. It ended with a
guilty plea to two misdemeanor tax-related crimes, including a deal that whisks away an illegal gun possession charge that would have put the
smartest man Joe Biden knows in prison. Undoubtedly this is a ploy to end the investigation into the Biden family’s
corrupt business dealings once and for all just in time for campaign season.
What happens to a member of the unwashed masses who lies about being a drug addict when purchasing a firearm? Rapper
Kodak Black was convicted of the same crime and served three years in prison.
Deja Taylor of Virginia will serve 18-24 months in prison for buying a gun while using marijuana.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons data show that over 32,000, or 21.7%, of all federal prisoners were convicted of weapons, explosives, or arson-related crimes. But sleep well knowing that the
world’s best dad won’t be among them.
You or I would not survive a Hunter-sized run-in with the feds, nor are we likely to land a
sweet gig at a Ukrainian natural gas company. For the senators’ sons: everything. For the rest of us: the law.
