Hooner,
I am a member of Huntin Fool, Eastmans Journal, ect... and I would NEVER base my decision off of what a magazine says alone. Im begining to think so many of you guys may have the wrong impression of what I am looking for out of this hunt. I am not going to be going to Colorado this fall expecting to slap my tag on a 200" mule deer. Unrealistic in any unit. 13 PP in Colorado is nothing anymore and gets you in the runnings for a possibly slightly above average unit. Another thing is that many of you are commenting on, which i appreciate it, the 3rd rifle season. Well i dont know if the state of Colorado and its mule deer are anything like the state of Wisconsin and our trophy white-tails, but the difference a week makes when you start approaching the rut is the difference between night and day, not to mention the tags are cut from a few hundred to around twenty. Now I wasnt posting on this website asking you fellow MM members if i should "turn in my tag", I was simply asking if anyone had any information they would care to share with a fellow hunter who is looking for some help. This tag was a 9 point hunt last year, and from talking to a few of you "GOOD OL' BOYS" who e-mailed me or called me, I should be in for an awsome experience. So thanks to you guys for the pictures and info, I will definitely be keeping in touch with all of you. Again, I appologize if im comming accross as an ass, just a little sick of hearing how im "wasting" 13 PP. Im not using yours so what does it matter. I would be extremely happy to take a 170"+ deer. Im not looking to wait another 15 years to draw one of the top units in the state, that are also over-hyped. So thanks to all that e-mailed or called me, I will be in touch with you when the draw results come out if I draw. I think you guys have done a great job pointing me in the right direction.
